Lumix digital camera review

If you are a shutterbug and prefer a “real” camera to your cell phone, then check out the Panasonic Lumix FZ300!  I love how this camera makes me look good as a photographer! It has so many features that I am still learning to use, but my easy default is the iA setting for the camera’s auto “smart” feature. Most of the photos on my blog have been taken with this camera.

My favorite feature is the great 25-600mm 24X zoom lens, so I can photograph a wild critter without disturbing it, or get up close to show better detail. I can also take great macro shots, such as water droplets on a flower petal. This versatile lens takes the place of having to change out and carry a bunch of specialty lenses.

I like the high resolution 12.1 megapixels with a choice of shooting photos in various file sizes.  4K video is built-in. The stabilizer feature for handheld shots helps to reduce blur.

It has a self-timer as well as the ability to use my cell phone with a Lumix app to act as a remote. However, the app only works with wifi, so I travel with a corded remote, as wifi is often not available in remote areas.

This camera has a lot of bells and whistles, so I also recommend a Youtube series by Graham Houghton who wrote and sells his manual on Amazon. I found the manual to be rather technical. I really like the videos as Graham breaks down and demonstrates how to use the many features.
