Our truck camping friends David and Nancy gifted us an odd wrinkled-looking gizmo that turned out to be an amazing and very practical camping lantern for us. The MPOWERD Luci Light uses solar to charge its lithium-ion battery which lasts a good 24 hours with 75 lumens of instant LED brightness.
This little lamp lights up big by simply inflating it with a few breaths when you’re ready to use it and later scrunches down to a stubby 1.5-inch tall package easy to stow just about anywhere. Our breath did fog up the lamp in the cool weather, but this did not seem to diminish the light we needed.
The lantern will also simply sit on a rock or table but is light enough it could blow away if not anchored to something. The lamp can also sit on either its top or bottom to further adjust the direction of the 10 LED bulbs inside of it.
Luci has 4 light settings including the button Pres later discovered is for checking your solar battery level. The flashing setting can be used as a signal to help locate a camper or keep track of the kiddos on a dark night. The lamp is waterproof and can work on a boat or kayak to help guide you back to shore.
The Luci makes a practical gift for your favorite camper and in our book is must-have gear for camping in the backcountry. You can use our handy affiliate link to get yours now. Thank you!
